The Maypole pub has been a family run
Pub in the heart of Cambridge since February, 1982

Freehouse since, 2009

Here at The Maypole, we believe our customers deserve the best from their pub. And it’s our job to give you just that.

Based in the heart of historic Cambridge, The Maypole is a family-run traditional freehouse that prides itself on giving the warmest of welcomes.

Since 1982, the Castiglione family have greeted many customers across the threshold with the focus on quality food and drinks.

The Maypole has been described as having ‘a locals’ atmosphere within the city centre’ and is a real part of the local community, proud to help fundraise for charities and sponsor many of its local sports clubs.

As one of very few freehouses in Cambridge, The Maypole is able to sell a greater selection of real ales and more importantly, more local beers from smaller breweries. Beer festivals are a regular – and very popular – event at the pub. The Maypole’s new gin bar has also become a ‘go-to’ spot in the city, serving more than 50 different fine gins.

A hidden gem, The Maypole is tucked away between Bridge Street and Jesus Green but, once found, we are quietly confident that you will find there are enough reasons to go off-piste more often.
